Prominent goings on and issues in the American culture today.

The War on Women Myth Never Ends

crsbe130510-e1368357727834“You oppose me killing my child!”

“You refuse to pay for me to have recreational sex without consequences!”

“Your opposition to child-murder puts rape victims in chains!”

When will this tirade against the fundamental human right to life end, or this entitlement mentality where your right to force others to subsidize your bedroom antics even when their Constitutional rights are violated cease? Liberals are freaking obsessed with sex. And murder. Its unhealthy. And its sickening.

Of course liberals actually do take real issues and put them in chains, taking Americans captive: religious freedom, freedom of speech, the second amendment, the right to life, the American worker’s income, etc., etc.

I am so sick and tired of their crap.

A New Flood

I often can’t help but to wonder if western civilization, specifically America, is approaching or has already passed a point of no return. Have we culturally passed the point where there is still a chance to turn from our present course that consists of rampant materialism, murder of unwanted children on demand, and unrestricted sexual freedom and approval? Has the culture already committed suicide and we are now just waiting for the end of this civilization?

I guess I just wonder if there is no use trying to fix what we have not only broken, but virtually trashed and discarded. Do we literally just need to start over, at square one, relearning the basics of what it means to be human.

I suppose that some may say that I’m being a fundamentalist conservative nut job, that the western world as we know it can’t possibly collapse because we are in some sort of heightened age of enlightenment with unlimited wealth and freedom and a sense of respect for peoples of all races, sexualities, religions (except devout Christians) and ages (except those in the first nine months of life).

But civilizations collapse. Nations are wiped off the face of the earth. The glory of Rome. The glory of the Mayans and the ancient civilizations of the Americas. They collapsed.

Over the last half century we have hurled ourselves towards totally irrational anti-human survival activities. We have sacrificed our children to abortion. We have sacrificed our families for no-fault divorce. We have sacrificed the natural purpose of sexuality by advocating, promoting, and tolerating the separation of sex and reproduction through contraceptive and homosexuality, all the while diminishing sexual responsibility which has increased the number of unintended pregnancies, single mothers, absentee dads, abortions, and STI’s/STD’s.

I don’t possibly see how our culture can recover from this without first completely destroying itself. And perhaps that is the most important thing to do. Perhaps we begin to pull back, still teaching and preaching, but just let the culture kill itself through its self-centered ethics, while we work hard to strengthen those who will listen and prepare to rebuild the future, to rise from the ashes, to emerge from the flood of death to establish once more the natural law of mankind.

Boston

I don’t think we need much commentary on the Boston Marathon attacks.

The only thing that matters is Jesus Christ. These great acts of evil can occur at any time, at any place, to any of us. Even in its great resilience, life is also delicate and we could be called before the throne of God at any moment. And in that moment all that matters is whether we know Jesus Christ.

Do we really know him? Is he the center of our heart? Our thoughts? Our acts? Will the moment we meet Jesus be a moment of fear, or will we be at peace because we have known him in this life? Will he say “Well done good and faithful servant?”

Out of great evil, we pray for greater good to come. We pray for the peace of Christ to those killed and injured in the attacks and for their loved ones. We pray that as the world watches and reflects as the situation unfolds that we would seek Jesus Christ, that we would order our lives away from ourselves and towards God.

Boston, we are praying for you.

Gays and Straights are Equal!

Gay people and straight people are equal under the law. However, that does not mean that what they do with their reproductive parts are the same. Any honest person has to acknowledge that there is a fundamental difference between the two activities and it is that fundamental difference that society has an active interest in and that is why same-sex “marriage” is impossible and of no interest to the people.

I’m Not an Anti-Gay Bigot Because I Don’t Support Gay “Marriage”

This is a repost from Brendan Malone from The Leading Edge, a blog based out of New Zealand, expressing his thoughts on legislation making its way in that country’s parliament.

Let me start by putting all my cards on the table.

I think that Labour MP Louisa Wall’s bill to redefine marriage in NZ (a bill which is proposing the biggest change to marriage and marriage laws that has ever taken place in this country) is a really bad piece of ideologically driven legislation that has no sound basis in reality, and as such it should be rejected by our parliament.

Holding such a view about Louisa Wall’s bill does NOT make me a bigot, anti-gay or make me guilty of discrimination.

It simply makes me someone with a view that is opposed to the personal views of Louisa Wall and those who support her bill to redefine marriage.

One thing that I have grown sick and tired of in the seven months since the introduction of this bill is the way in which various supporters of this bill – including some journalists who have decided to trade in their journalistic balance for a biased ideological leaning (just look at the URL address for this article and you’ll realize that the original headline never contained the word ‘marriage’), and, sadly, even our MPs on the supposedly impartial select committee receiving submissions about this bill – have chosen to slur the supporters of the natural biological view of marriage (woman/man) rather than actually engaging with the arguments we are putting forward.

Here’s the rub – the fact that I do not think that ANY two people should be able to legally marry each other does not mean that I think any less of the persons proposing the opposite view to me, or that I am guilty of any sort of unjust discrimination for firmly committing myself to such a belief.

I also believe that 25 year old vehicle license holders should be allowed to drive cars on our roads, while at the same time I hold to the firm belief that 13 year old’s shouldn’t legally be allowed to do the exact same thing. This belief doesn’t make me guilty of youth-ophobia or unjust discrimination, instead it makes me someone who has clear ideas about what road safety is and isn’t, and someone who draws a line in the sand because of that understanding.

Claiming something as a ‘right’ doesn’t make it so – not even for two heterosexuals of the opposite sex who want to rush into a marriage (like two 14 year old students who are desperately ‘in love’ with each other and who believe that no one else has a right to prevent them from marrying each other).

The reason I oppose Louisa Wall’s bill to redefine marriage is because I think that there are some things that are more important than people’s personal wants – and in this case one of those things is protecting, in legislation, a sound, reality based vision of human marriage, rather than imposing subjective personal whims upon an important pre-existing institution.

Marriage has a specific nature, and in order for marriage to exist, there has to be a heterosexual union present to actually bring that authentic nature of marriage into existence – without a heterosexual union between a male and a female spouse authentic marriage can’t even be brought into existence.

This isn’t just a competing version of marriage (as supporters of Louisa Wall’s bill would like to claim), it is something far more fundamental than that – it is the traditional understanding of marriage that has existed since year zero, and it is an understanding based in the biological complimentarity of the heterosexual union, and it’s potential to create new human life.

(The procreative potential of heterosexual unions is also the only thing that actually makes sense of the state’s involvement in marriage – without this what you have is the state regulating your personal romantic friendships, something that it has no need or business doing.)

The fact that ONLY the pairing of a male and female can produce children is a truth that is self-evident in the lived bodily reality of the human species – it’s as obvious as the laws of gravity.

Now at this point supporters of the bill usually retort with something along the lines of “marriage can’t have its basis in procreation, because infertile couples still get married.”

To paraphrase my good friend Dr. Matthew Flanagan: if this argument is true, then the fact that people who don’t love each other still marry must also mean that marriage isn’t actually about romantic love either (by arguing against marriage as an exclusively heterosexual union, based on the presence of infertility in some heterosexual couples, supporters of Louisa Wall’s bill have ironically ended up logically undermining their own ‘marriage is merely about romantic love’ view of marriage – by virtue of the fact that some heterosexual marriages are also devoid of love).

I make no apologies for holding the view that marriage has to be grounded in a biological reality of male/female complimentarity – and neither do I have to, for mine is the traditional understanding of marriage that has existed from its inception.

I have nothing to apologise for, and I shouldn’t have to put up with childish public ridicule and vilification (especially from journalists who are supposed to be reporting facts) merely for proposing this traditional biological reality-based understanding of marriage.

It is those who wish to propose a complete change to this original definition of marriage that have an obligation to provide a logical basis for completely redefining marriage (and no, claims of discrimination and bigotry are not actually a logical argument, they are merely emotive pleading).

I hold the views I do because I think that marriage is far too important an institution to be interfered with and completely redefined in such mass social experimentation as that which Louisa Wall is proposing.

Now supporters of this bill will probably respond by saying “but what about all those social harms caused by bad heterosexual marriages”?

To which I reply: stop trying to justify your social experimentation on the basis of failed executions of an institution that is a massively important social good, and which, when it works, produces some hugely important benefits for society.

Just because some people are already making a mess of marriage, it doesn’t mean that we should open the floodgates and let every Tom, Dick and Harriet have a crack at social experimentation with marriage, thus creating even more harms.

If anything, failed heterosexual marriages are NOT a justification for the social re-engineering of marriage, just the opposite; they are actually a wake-up call that we need to focus more time and resources into supporting and growing good marriages.

At the end of the day, one of the hallmarks of a truly free and open democracy is a robust and open public discourse on important issues. Therefore it’s time that we grew up and started acting accordingly by ceasing the childish and illogical name-calling with labels such as ‘bigot’, ‘anti-gay’ and ‘discrimination’ for those who support the traditional biological complimentarity understanding of marriage.

As my grandmother used to say ‘if you haven’t got something constructive to contribute, don’t say anything at all’.

Hope

Just reflecting on the situation with the Boy Scouts of America right now really got me down. Just the fact that the enemy will bully people into a corner to get them to comply really depresses me. What depresses me even more is that most Americans are either too stupid or too lazy to see the obvious hypocrisy in it all. It really bothers me that people can’t see that so-called tolerant people are just as, if not more, intolerant as we conservative Christians are supposed to be.

What bothers me most, though, is that this clouds my view of Jesus. It causes me to lose hope. It is hard to look at the Obamas and the Pelosis and the Richardses and the Gagas of the world and wonder how the heck we will recover as a nation, if its even possible. I look at all of the godless nations of the past and fear that we are headed that direction I fear that we will be treated the same way as they were treated.

But we aren’t a godless people. The government can’t kill God. The government has no power over God. He cannot be stopped from saving and delivering his people. No matter how hard the government may try to eliminate him, God loves me. In the end if I am faithful I will be saved, whether I’m rotting in a jail cell or concentration camp or living in a bustling city. No matter what America’s future holds, my future is with Jesus Christ. I am not alone. Jesus is with me.

Boy Scouts

Will you pray with me that the Boy Scouts of America would stand strong against the constant bullying of the left? You see the Boy Scouts is a Christian organization. That is how it was founded and is abundantly evident in its oath and law. But the left is not satisfied with letting religious organizations be religious. They are constantly trying to secularize everything and bully others into changing their values to suit them. They are not interested in diversity and tolerance. They are only interested in their values and beliefs and want opposition to be silenced and squashed.

The Boy Scouts made a heroic stand in 2000 by not compromising their Christian heritage and refusing to admit openly gay homosexuals into their ranks. That is their unabridged first amendment right. You don’t have to like it, but you do have to accept it. But now they are considering turning their backs on that heritage, caving into the bullying tactics of the left. If you are a Boy Scout please contact them and urge them to not abandon ship in the face of adversity. Remind them of the Scout Oath and Law:

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

To abandon such basic Christ-centered principles on sexuality would be to go against their very own oath and law.

But I guess this is what we can expect with so many Christian communities such as the Episcopalians, ELCA, Presbyterians, and countless other sects abandoning Jesus Christ for political correct secular mores.

Nevertheless, we must pray that none of the remaining bastions of morality cave into the pressure of evil.

What They Mean By Choice

Today is Blog for Choice Day as declared by NARAL Pro-Choice America. Today abortionists and abortion lovers are supposed to come out in droves and blog for the protection and freedom of choice in America.

But what do they mean by “choice”?

When pro-choicers use the word “choice” they really mean “abortion”. They support a woman’s “right” to have an abortion.

Well what is abortion?

As Americans we like to see ourselves at the forefront of innovation and science. It wasn’t all that long ago that we were a fledgling conglomeration of thirteen colonies that bested the greatest army in the world and within a century had built up our little nation across a vast country, conquering mountains, deserts, forests, weather, wild beasts and enemy forces. What started as small villages we built up into a vast empire with multiple large and technologically advanced cities, hospitals and schools.

So we will use the science and the technology we have available to define what “they” mean by “choice”, that is “abortion”.

There are many two main classes of abortions and many sub-classes. The two classes could be called natural and induced abortions. We will only deal with induced abortions here, as natural abortions are not really under our control.

The first type of induced abortion is the medical abortion, sometimes known as a chemical abortion. For time’s sake we will take a quick look at a drug called RU-486. It is a combination of two drugs actually, the first being mifepristone. Mifepristone is a chemical used to block hormones in a woman that maintain a nutrient rich lining in the uterus. When the nutrient rich lining of the uterus deteriorates the fetal cells begin to die. After the death of the fetal cells, the woman must take misoprostol, which is drug designed to combat ulcers, but is used in this case to produce contraction of the uterus in order to dispel the fetus. Side-effects for the mother can include bleeding, cramping, nausea, and vomiting.

The second type of induced abortion is the surgical abortion, of which there are numerous different types. One such is called the suction curettage or vacuum aspiration. This is one of the most common types of abortions performed. In this procedure the cervix of the woman is artificially dilated by a group of instruments. A suction tube with a knife-like tip is inserted into the uterus at which point the fetus is dismembered and vacuumed out of the uterus and the remaining placenta, blood, amniotic flood, and fetal tissue is removed from the uterus with various tools. Complications can include infection and possible hemorrhage if the uterine wall is punctured.

Another surgical abortion is dilation and curettage. In this procedure, the cervix is also dilated and a steel knife with a loop shape on the end is inserted into the uterus and the abortionist uses the tool to scrape the wall of the uterus, cutting the fetus to pieces, removing the fetus and the placenta from the uterine wall. Obviously the most common complication is bleeding and uterine perforation, the result of scraping a knife along the walls of the uterus.

As a pregnancy progresses the fetus becomes too large for some of the previously mentioned procedures. To deal with this problem, a woman may choose a saline amniocentesis or salt poisoning. A needle with a solution of concentrated salt is inserted through the abdomen into the amniotic sac. The fetus breathes in the salt and is poisoned and dead in about an hour. A day and a half later, the woman goes into labor and delivers a dead, shriveled fetus. Many dangerous complications can come with this procedure including uncontrolled blood clotting, seizures, coma and death.

Because salt poisoning is so dangerous, another method was developed called dilation and evacuation. Again the cervix is dilated so that grasping forceps can be inserted. At this stage in development, the fetus has a skeleton of bones that cannot simply be vacuumed out. The abortionist uses the forceps to dismember the fetus part by part so that each part can fit through the dilated cervix. Because the head is so large, the skull must be crushed so that it can be removed. After the abortion is complete, the fetus is reassembled by a nurse to make sure that nothing was left behind. Complications can involve a lot of bleeding as the abortionist must complete the task blindly, only using a sense of feel. There is potential for the uterus, bladder, and bowels of the mother to be punctured.

Lastly we will discuss partial-birth abortion, a three-day procedure. On days one and two, the woman’s cervix is anesthetized and dilated. On the third day, using a sonogram, the abortionist finds the fetus’s leg and uses a forceps to pull the fetus through birth canal until the entire fetus is delivered except for the head. A scissors is forced into the base of the skull and spread so that a suction catheter can be inserted to vacuum out the brain and other tissues of the skull. The unnatural dilation of the cervix is accomplish using a tool made of reeds which can cause pain, infection, and infertility. The partial birth portion of the procedure can result in hemorrhage, uterine perforation or rupture, amniotic fluid embolus, and uterine trauma. The scissors-in-the-skull part can result in laceration of the uterus or cervix resulting in severe bleeding, shock, and even death.

These are the real procedures that are used to commit an abortion. No lies, no emotional overtones, strictly procedural. But there is more to “choice” than the abortion procedures.

What is this “fetus”, the “thing” that is removed in the abortion?

Well scientifically and factually, the answer is very simple: the fetus is a human being in the early stages of development. During sexual intercourse, the man releases sperm into the woman’s reproductive system. Sperm are specialized cells produced by the man during meiosis and contain only one copy of each chromosome instead of two. The sperm is very streamlined and efficient. It has a small head which contains the nucleus with 23 chromosomes. Connected to the head is a mid-piece with mitochondria which is then succeeded by the tail which enables the sperm to “swim”. When the sperm are released into the fallopian tube and an ovum is present (the female counterpart of the sperm: a large cell much more complicated than the sperm), one sperm is allowed to “fertilize” the egg, that is make contact and penetrate the cell membrane. The instant that the sperm does so, the plasma membrane’s charge is altered so that no other sperm may penetrate. Only the head containing the nucleus actually enters the ovum, the tail is left behind. Upon the fusion of the two cells, the so-called proto-nuclei containing the genetic information from the man and the woman make their way to the center of the ovum. While doing so, the DNA within each proto-nuclei is replicating. While this is occurring the cell is preparing for its first mitosis, the first division. By the time the proto-nuclei have reached the center, the nuclei have dissolved and all that is left is the DNA from the mother and the father, at which point they mix and the mitotic spindles “grab” them in time for the cell division. Both daughter cells of this mitotic division have one chromosome from each of the “parent” cells and are genetically identical.

With that process briefly described, it is important to note here that scientifically, this two-celled “thing” is actually a unique human being. At the moment the two cells fused it was a unique human being with a unique genetic make-up, the genetics that it will have at every stage of its development. It is a human being that is separate from both the mother and father that contributed the genetic and biological material. Most importantly it is alive. The cell performs ALL of the cellular functions that the cells of all human beings perform: cellular respiration, DNA replication, mitosis, transcription, all of it. There is absolutely NO scientific way to deny that the fertilized ovum, which is now dividing is a third human being in addition to the father and the mother. As this cell divides, cells begin to differentiate in a complex and barely grasped systematic procedure. These cells become different tissue types and migrate to different places within the growing human to become organs and systems, to form blood, bones, skin, nerves, eyes, hair, fingernails, muscles, and so much more.

Now go back and re-read these abortion procedures.

Brutal. Disgusting. Grotesque. Sadistic. Barbaric. Horrific.

Abortion is the destruction of a human being. The destruction of a human being is murder. Abortion is murder. Being pro-choice is support, tolerance, and/or apathy towards abortion, towards murder.

Pro-choice IS Pro-Murder. There is NO way around it.

This truth must be realized and understood. We have become a nation of savages protecting our right to murder each other, and not just anybody, but we fight for the right of a mother to murder her own child and we hail it as the most sacred choice we have. Are these the kinds of ideals we really want to leave as our legacy? Is that the kind of people we want to be? Because that’s who we are as long as abortion is legal in the United States of America.

Blog for choice, blog for abortion.

Blog for abortion, blog for murder.

Celebrity Gun Control Hypocrisy

Thank you to Southern Fried Catholicism for bringing these two great videos to my attention.

First watch this PSA:

Then watch this response, which speaks for itself:

This is how I view Hollywood:

aom

For the most part, Hollywood spreads around the smuttiest filth, helping to destroy the remaining moral fibers our culture has, glamorizing the degradation of the sanctity of sex and matrimony, the objectification of women, the transformation of children into a commodity, the spread of murder through abortion, and production of violent movies. And then they all get on their fracking high horses and attempt to speak from some moral authority?! Hollywood is part of the problem, and I can’t take their insane hypocrisy seriously.

Pro-Life vs. Anti-Abortion

Recently life-warrior Jill Stanek posted a poll on her website asking which term her readers preferred: pro-life or anti-abortion. I immediately preferred the term pro-life because it is not limited to abortion, but includes euthanasia and the death penalty as well. A large majority of respondents agreed 3:1.

However, as I reflect upon the terms a little more I am beginning to think that I am not in love with the term pro-life. It sounds so soft. It sounds so dreamy, so lofty, pie-in-the-sky. It doesn’t sound fierce. It sounds like it belongs in the beginning of a tween girl movie about the how the summer I went to day camp was the best summer of my life making friendship bracelets with the girls at school who were my enemies but now we are BFZ4EVA.

No.

The pro-life movement isn’t a movement of pansy softies. We are warriors and we are fighting the absolute worst evil thinkable. This evil has penetrated and taken control of our society, it has completely immobilized human dignity in our society for virtually 40 years. It has taken us backwards beyond the depravity of slavery, the forced relocation of the indigenous peoples of America, to a place where it is ok to kill human babies for convenience. It has brought us to a place where this is fracking legal! To a place where nearly half of Americans believe that this is ok! That is fracking insane! Almost half the people in our country think it is completely logical and acceptable to kill babies for careers, for fear of shame, because of shame, because of rape, for any fracking reason at all! This is some serious delusion folks. I don’t know if pro-lifers understand that. We often bring ourselves to the point of making ourselves silent martyrs for the cause. We conjure up the image of Immaculata: we are like the Blessed Mother holding her dead Son which her people killed, only we mourn the unjust murder of our children, which our people killed. Truly this is a wonderful image, and expresses the reality, and is integral to the movement. As respecters of life we need to be appropriately moved to experience in our souls the true horror and sorrow that is abortion.

But we need to realize that it is not enough to be sad. It is not enough to feel sorry for the vicious people that advocate the murder of children, wondering what happened to them to make them so callous towards the innocent among us. We have to get fired up. We have to back up our words and prayers with action. We have to be warriors, soldiers for life. Sometimes it is not enough to say what you are for, but you must say what you are against. We are for the lives of all people. But we are specifically against the murder of children. We need to continue to unapologetically expose the reality of abortion, the scientific fact that the unborn are fully human and as such are entitled (a word that Democrats love) to the same protections afforded that the rest of us fully human beings are. Abolitionists, prohibitionists, anti-drug advocates, anti-child abuse advocates all base their movements on the crimes and sins and issues they seek to eradicate. I think it is time for us to refocus our movement in the same way.

I am

Anti-Abortion.
