The Devil’s a Douche

For the first time since I July I decided that I was going to get up at 3 on Friday morning and go to spend an hour in Eucharistic Adoration. When my alarm went off, my first thought was just to roll over and pull my blankets up tighter. Jesus doesn’t need me to go and sit with him in the chapel. Besides if I got up then, I would be so tired and useless all day.

What a douche! The Devil thinks of every lame excuse to get me to ignore Jesus and to simply be a nominal Christian. Finally, though, I remembered though that Jesus does desire for us to sit with him. I think about the unfaithfulness of the disciples who were supposed to pray with Jesus in the garden and just slept instead. I prayed “Jesus I’ll take care of you if you take care of me.” So I got up and went to the chapel.

I have to say that that hour was amazing! Divine Mercy chaplet and the Divine Office were very beneficial, as well as the quiet time of supplication and intercession on behalf of the President and our country.

Getting home was wonderful too though, because I was tired. I just plopped into bed and snuggled deep under the covers.

And then that douchebag of a devil starts attacking me really hard as if he wants to completely destroy all of the grace that I received from Adoration. It was pretty much torture for the next 45 minutes and I couldn’t sleep. I don’t know how I made it through and how I eventually fell asleep. I was pretty ticked at the devil though. What a douche!
