Our God can move the mountains. He can rise from the dead. He can save us all from our sins. But he couldn’t start an infallible Church if his life depended on it.
At least that’s the Protestant view.
After seeing more people come into the Catholic Church last night at the Easter Vigil, I couldn’t help but think of all the excuse people use as to why they cannot or will not enter the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. It really grinds me gears, the fallacy that our God is powerful enough to conquer death, but not powerful enough to start a Church. The idea that he is Truth, that he desires us to know Truth, that he says one must follow truth to have eternal life, but that he provided no way to know with certainty what is and is not true.
I pray that people would open their eyes, and their minds to really think about it logically for a minute. The idea of One Church is the only logical thing Christ could do. And Theologically, the Catholic Church is the most sound of them all. Historically the Catholic Church is the original, uncompromising Church, infallibly guided by the Holy Spirit. That’s all I have to say for now.
